Bonus Cache Information

There are three bonus caches on the trail. To find them, you simply need to find the other caches first. You do not need to qualify for the caches you find. Just find them, sign the log, log a “write note” on the cache page letting us know that you found it but do not qualify yet, and then take a look at the cache itself.

On each cache, there is a code word on the lid and again on the log book or log sheet. Record this code word somewhere in your personal notes.

When you’ve collected 15 code words, congrats! You’re a tenderfoot. You can go to the Tenderfoot Bonus Cache page and click on the link to enter the code words. If you enter 15 correct words, you will be given the coordinates to the first bonus cache.

When you’ve collected 45 code words, you’re officially a cheechako. Go to the Cheechako Bonus Cache page and click on the link to provide any 45 words, including the 15 you previously used to find the Tenderfoot cache.

When you’ve got 60 code words, repeat the process again on the Sourdough Bonus Cache Page to become a “Sourdough” cacher!

If you collect all 76 code words and either log a “write note” or a “found it” on all of them email or app message BirkenstockReport for your final prize– the prize of the True Alaskan, which can be mailed to you.

Many prizes await, but the most notable are the flashtags. Flashtags are the next generation of PathTags, made here in the USA. Pathtags are a signature trading item that you get to keep when you find them! Just log them at pathtags.com and then add it to your collection.
